Rachel E. VanLandingham (LinkedIn, X), Lt Col, USAF (ret.), is Irwin R. Buchalter Professor of Law, Southwestern Law School, Los Angeles, and President Emerita and current Director, National Institute of Military Justice. She served as Chief, International Law at HQ US Central Command advising on the law of armed conflict during the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. She is co-author of Military Justice: Cases and Materials (Carolina Academic Press 3d ed. 2020).
