Rear Admiral Donald J. Guter (Ret.), was commissioned as an officer in the Navy in 1970 and served 32 years before retiring in 2002. He climbed the ranks of the JAG Corps from trial counsel to legislative counsel, to special counsel to the Chief of Naval Operations, and ultimately became the 37th Judge Advocate General of the Navy from 2000-2002. He currently serves as the president and dean of the South Texas College of Law Houston.
