Adele Orosz

Adele Orosz is the Deputy Special Envoy to the Sahel of the German Federal Foreign Office. Previously, she was a Senior Adviser on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in New York. She has a long track record in development cooperation, in particular as Senior Adviser to the State Secretary of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and as a member of the EU negotiation team on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted in 2015 by the U.N. General Assembly. She has worked extensively on governance, human rights and sustainable development. Before working in international relations and development, she was a journalist. She has a PhD and a Master’s degree from Humboldt-University Berlin and a Master’s degree from Free University Berlin.
