Sara Zdeb

Sara Zdeb (BlueskyLinkedIn) is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Practice at Emory University School of Law, where she teaches and writes on congressional investigations, separation of powers, and government lawyering. She joined Emory from the United States Department of Justice, where she served as Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs and was responsible for managing DOJ’s response to congressional investigations during the 118th Congress. From 2019 through 2022 she served as Chief Oversight Counsel for the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Democratic staff, leading a team of lawyers and staff in conducting investigations of the executive branch and private sector and organizing high-profile oversight hearings on domestic terrorism, hate crimes, data security, threats to election workers, and the FBI’s failure to investigate sexual abuse claims against Larry Nassar.
