Anna Zahn is a Conflict Analyst for Airwars, where she is responsible for researching and assessing civilian casualty events that occur in the conflict areas that Airwars monitors, in addition to managing their volunteer program. She has conducted thousands of assessments of civilian harm incidents in conflicts including Syria, Ukraine, Yemen, Iraq and elsewhere.

She received her bachelor’s degree in political science from University of Maryland Baltimore County and her master’s degree in American foreign policy and international economics from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.Following her undergraduate studies, she worked in communications for a number of political campaigns and voter outreach before moving to Shanghai, China to teach English for a year. After that, she worked for a communications consulting firm where she developed online and traditional media for political campaigns, nonprofits and small businesses. After a period volunteering, she joined Airwars as a staff member in April 2021. She is also on LinkedIn.
