Alyssa Yamamoto

Alyssa T. Yamamoto is the Robina Research & Advocacy Fellow to the UN Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of human rights while countering terrorism. She is also a visiting fellow at the Human Rights Center at University of Minnesota Law School, the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, and the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights.
Previously Alyssa worked as an associate at an international law firm, where her practice focused on public international law and her representations involved inter-state proceedings before the International Court of Justice and Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, individual communications before the UN Human Rights Committee and Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, and plaintiff-side cases under the U.S. Alien Tort Statute and Torture Victim Protection Act. Prior to that, she was a researcher and engagement manager at the global health non-profits Partners In Health and Village Health Works respectively. She received her J.D. from Yale Law School and A.B. from Harvard College.
