Joe Toomey

Joe Toomey (LinkedIn) is Vice President of Underwriting Security at Coalition, leading a global team that brings together security engineering, threat intelligence, and data-driven underwriting. His organization builds and operates the systems that power Coalition’s threat intelligence function. It continuously monitors policyholders, produces and processes first and third party threat intelligence, and ingests and analyzes security telemetry, converting those signals into clear underwriting decisions and concrete loss-prevention actions. His teams also alert policyholders to active threats and newly exploited vulnerabilities so they can mitigate them, often within hours, to reduce the likelihood and severity of insurance claims.

Prior to Coalition, Joe spent over a decade leading teams and building endpoint protection products at Carbon Black. He brings more than 30 years of deep technical expertise to Coalition’s leadership team and to the cyber insurance space, spanning software development, endpoint protection, threat intelligence, malware analysis, and internet-scale scanning platforms.
