Tom Smith (LinkedIn – X) is the Academic Director of the Royal Air Force College and Associate Professor at the University of Portsmouth. He was a Visiting Lecturer at De La Salle University in Manila and has published widely on Southeast Asian politics and security with a focus on human rights, terrorism, and conflict in the Philippines. Including the leading journals; Pacific Affairs, Terrorism and Political Violence, Studies in Conflict & Terrorism, Medicine, Conflict and Survival and Policing, Intelligence and Counter Terrorism and the lead Editor of Exporting Global Jihad published by Bloomsbury in 2020.
