Mariea Sekijima (XLinkedIn) is the UN Advocacy and Research Analyst at International Crisis Group (ICG). She previously worked at the Permanent Mission of the United Kingdom to the UN where she served concurrently as the UK’s UN Security Council Strategy Coordinator, covering cross-cutting Security Council trends and its working methods and procedure, and as Senior Policy Advisor on Asia, as the lead expert and negotiator on Myanmar and Afghanistan.

Mariea was also a Research Assistant for Fordham University’s Political Science Department and completed internships at the British Consulate in New York and the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs. Mariea holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from Fordham University.
