Lindsay L. Rodman

Lindsay L. Rodman (@lindsaylrodman) is the Director of Communications and Legal Strategy at IAVA.  She spent eight years on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps as a judge advocate, including a deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from 2010-2011.  While in uniform, she also served in Okinawa, at Headquarters Marine Corps, on the Joint Staff and on the National Security Council Staff in the White House as a White House Fellow from 2014-2015.  She remains in the Marine Corps Reserve, and currently holds the rank of Major.

Lindsay has also held various think tank and university affiliations, including being Adjunct Senior Fellow at the Center for a New American Security’s Program on Military, Veterans, and Society, the inaugural International Affairs Fellow (Canada) at the Council on Foreign Relations, and a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at NYU School of Law’s Reiss Center on Law and Security.  She is a well-recognized expert on military personnel policy, including military sexual assault and veterans issues, and a range of other matters from international humanitarian law to arctic security. She is a graduate of Duke University, Harvard Law School, and the Kennedy School of Government.

Lindsay is a spokesperson for IAVA.  She has been featured on television, radio and several podcasts.  Her written work has appeared in various publications including the Globe and MailWar on the RocksJoint Force Quarterly, and the Wall Street Journal.
