William Peduto served as the Mayor of Pittsburgh from 2014-2022. His Administration is associated with the economic transformation of the city and the financial recovery of Pittsburgh. Prior to serving as Mayor, Peduto spent 19 years on Pittsburgh City Council leading the city on sustainable initiatives, government reform and smart city initiatives. On October 27, 2018 a mass shooting occurred at the Tree of Life Synagogue in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh. William Peduto led his city through its darkest days and the most horrific act of Anti-Semitism in American history. Since leaving office, William Peduto has served as a Distinguished Executive in Residence at Carnegie Mellon University and has served as Advisor/Consultant for dozens of organizations through Sabean Innovation, Inc. He serves as Senior Advisor to the Strong Cities Network.
