Maria O’Sullivan (BlueskyLinkedInX) is an Associate Professor in the Deakin Law School in Australia and leads the Technology-based Harms Research Stream of the Centre for Law as Protection in the Deakin Law School. She is the author of a number of international and national publications on the subject of human rights, public law and technology. Her recent publications include papers on the public law implications of technology and automated decision-making and the meaning of a ‘right to a remedy’ for AI harms. She has made several submissions to government inquiries into AI and human rights and to inquiries by the Meta Oversight Board. Maria is a regular media commentator on human rights and technology and has been published in The Sydney Morning Herald, ABC News and The Conversation.
