Udi Ofer (X – Bluesky – LinkedIn) is the John L. Weinberg Visiting Professor and Lecturer of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, where he founded and directs the Policy Advocacy Clinic. His research and teaching focus on constitutional rights, criminal justice reform, and international human rights advocacy, and his work has appeared widely in law journals and national press, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic and The New Yorker. Ofer is an elected member of the Council on Criminal Justice and Chair of the International Advisory Council of the Association for Civil Rights in Israel.

Before joining Princeton, Ofer spent more than two decades as a lawyer with the American Civil Liberties Union, including serving as the founding director of the ACLU’s Justice Division and as Deputy National Political Director, where he led the ACLU’s policy advocacy on criminal justice reform, including before the White House and Congress. He previously served as Executive Director of the ACLU of New Jersey and Advocacy Director and Senior Legislative Counsel at the New York Civil Liberties Union. Ofer began his legal career as a Skadden Fellow representing immigrant victims of domestic violence.
