Dr. Jasmin Johurun Nessa (LinkedIn – X) is a Research Associate in International Law at the University of Bristol, where she works on the Leverhulme-funded project, The Role of International Law in Regulating Armed Conflict

Jasmin’s research and professional experience lie in public international law, with a particular focus on self-defence and the use of force, international humanitarian law, the application of international human rights law in situations of armed conflict, international criminal law, and evidence and proof in international law.

Jasmin has acted as assistant counsel before the International Court of Justice and as a research assistant in proceedings before both the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court. She also teaches at the University of Liverpool and is Co-General Editor of the Journal on the Use of Force and International Law’s Digest of State Practice.
