Barbara Morais Figueiredo

Bárbara Morais Figueiredo is a Researcher in the Conventional Weapons Programme at the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), where she leads research on the protection of civilians in armed conflict and supports the implementation of a range of projects related to conventional arms control and disarmament instruments.

Before joining UNIDIR in 2021, she worked with various international and non-governmental organizations on issues at the intersection of international law and international security, including the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Geneva. Bárbara is a Brazilian-qualified lawyer and holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs from the Geneva Graduate Institute.
