Wiriranai Brilliant Masara (PhD) (X – LinkedIn) is a researcher and policy analyst working at the intersection of democracy, human rights, peace and security, and African governance. He is a Research Fellow at the Human Rights Foundation, where he assesses political regimes across Africa for the Tyranny Tracker, a global democracy index.
Masara holds a PhD in Global and Area Studies from Leipzig University. His research and commentary have been featured in the Journal of Democracy, Peace & Change, The RUSI Journal, Journal of African Union Studies, Human Rights Foundation, and OpenGlobalRights.
