Marta Achler (@achlerm) LLB/MA (Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia), defended her PhD at the Department of Law of the European University Institute, Florence, Italy (supervisor, Professor Martin Scheinin), in the field of human rights of assembly and association and new technologies. Marta has been practicing as a lawyer in the field of international law and international human rights law for over 18 years. Marta also worked in the private law field, prior to taking on her assignments with the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE ODIHR), where she held the post of Chief of the Legislative Support Unit in the Democratization Department representing the organization at UN and Council of Europe bodies (Venice Commission) and subsequently, the Deputy Head of the Democratization Department (OSCE ODIHR). She recently joined the European Centre for Not for Profit Law (ECNL) as a Senior Legal Advisor. Her areas of expertise are, international human rights, constitutional law and democratization.
