Kate Mackintosh

Kate Mackintosh (@Katemackintosh2) is Executive Director of the UCLA Law Promise Institute Europe, based between Amsterdam and The Hague. From 2018-2023 she was inaugural Executive Director of the Promise Institute for Human Rights in LA. She has held multiple legal roles at the United Nations international criminal tribunals, worked in post-conflict human rights field operations in Bosnia and in Rwanda, and was for eight years legal adviser and then Head of Humanitarian Affairs for international NGO Doctors without Borders (Médecins sans Frontières). From 2020-2021, she was deputy co-chair of the Independent Expert Drafting Panel on the legal definition of ecocide. Mackintosh is also on LinkedIn.
