Steven J. Kochevar

Steven J. Kochevar is the Data Science Institute Law Fellow and Lecturer in Law at the University of Chicago Law School. From 2017 to 2025, he served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York. He also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert A. Katzmann of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Honorable Jed S. Rakoff of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Kochevar received a J.D. from Yale Law School and a B.S. in Mathematics and English Language and Literature from Yale College.
