Joe Khawam

Joe Khawam (LinkedIn) is the Managing Director, Legal and AI Policy at the Law Reform Institute, specializing in AI policy and national security law. He previously served more than a decade as an attorney in the U.S. Department of State’s Office of the Legal Adviser, where he led U.S. delegations on treaty negotiations and advised on economic sanctions, export controls, and technology. He holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School.
