Charles G. Kels is a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force and formerly served in the Office of the General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. His writing on national security law issues has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the National Law Journal, The Hill, the National Interest, the Harvard National Security Journal, and the Journal of Military Ethics.
