Scott Johnston

Scott Johnston is a Legal Intern with the National Security Team at Human Rights First, focusing particularly on legal research regarding AUMFs, targeted killing, and the CIA torture program. Scott is a graduate of Harvard University where he received his BA in Sociology as well as a Secondary in Portuguese. Before working at Human Rights First, he worked on the issues of gun violence in Brazil, mass incarceration in the United States, and as a member of the Ayyash Defence Team at the Special Tribunal for Lebanon. Scott is currently a 3L at Columbia Law School where he is a member of the Human Rights Clinic and Executive Editor of the Journal of Law and Social Problems.
