Eric S. Johnson

Eric S. Johnson is a partner at Proskauer focusing on the national security dimensions of cross-border investment, including CFIUS, Team Telecom, and data and technology risks. He previously served in the U.S. Department of Justice’s National Security Division as Principal Deputy Chief of the Foreign Investment Review Section, where he co-led DOJ’s investment security work on CFIUS, Team Telecom, and ICTS matters. He also helped develop DOJ’s Data Security Program, contributed to Treasury’s outbound investment regulations, and provided technical assistance to Congress. He has engaged with Five Eyes partners on risks related to emerging technologies and critical infrastructure and serves on the Advisory Board of American University’s Tech, Law & Security Program.
