
Amit Jain
Amit Jain is a counsel for the Supreme Court and Appellate Program at the MacArthur Justice Center. He identifies and litigates important civil rights issues in appellate courts across the country. Amit previously served as counsel at Hecker Fink LLP, where he worked on a range of civil rights, criminal defense, immigration, education, and appellate matters; as litigation and policy counsel at the Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project, where he participated in litigation relating to family separation, co-authored legislative and administrative advocacy materials, and drafted informational resources for asylum seekers; and as a staff attorney with the Bronx Defenders, where he represented hundreds of individual clients in Bronx Criminal Court. Prior to joining MacArthur, Amit served as a law clerk to Justice Sonia Sotomayor of the U.S. Supreme Court and Judge Diana Gribbon Motz of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
