
Courtney Hillebrecht
Dr. Courtney Hillebrecht is the Hitchcock Family Chair of Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs and Professor and Chair of Political Science at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. She researches and teaches in the areas of human rights, international law, and international relations. Dr. Hillebrecht is the author of Saving the International Justice Regime: Beyond Backlash against International Courts (Cambridge University Press, 2021) and Domestic Politics and International Human Rights Tribunals: The Problem of Compliance (Cambridge University Press, 2014). She also has published in a variety of academic and public-facing outlets. Dr. Hillebrecht received her MA and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her BA in History and Spanish from Middlebury College.
