William J. Hawk

William J. “Bill” Hawk is professor of philosophy emeritus and founding director, Ethical Reasoning in Action home to the Eight Key Question ethical reasoning strategy, James Madison University.  He previously held two academic vice president posts and an endowed chair in humanities at private colleges. He leads ethical reasoning workshops for universities, professional and nonprofit organizations, government, and business. Hawk published in applied and practical ethics and critical thinking and served as associate to the editor to the International Encyclopedia of Ethics (Wiley). He collaborates as ethical reasoning consultant to Humanitarian Development Partnerships international. He attended The Washington and Lee School of Law and holds the M.A. and Ph.D. in philosophy from Vanderbilt University. Hawk is also on LinkedIn
