Ruwanthika Gunaratne

Ruwanthika Gunaratne is a lawyer specializing in international law, international humanitarian law, and international human rights law. From 2014 to 2018, she was the International Humanitarian Law Expert to four United Nations Security Council Panels of Experts concerning Yemen and Sudan. Before joining the United Nations, she worked with the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka and the Ministry of Justice of the United Kingdom. Ruwanthika has a Master’s in International Law from the University of Cambridge and a Master’s in International Human Rights Law from the University of Oxford. She is an Attorney at Law, enrolled in the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.
