Nienke Grossman is a Professor of Law and Co-Director of the Center for International and Comparative Law at the University of Baltimore School of Law. She is a member, since 2024, and Vice-Chair, since 2026, of the Organization of American States Inter-American Juridical Committee, a regional body of eleven independent international law experts. Her experience includes providing legal advice to Latin American States in cases before the International Court of Justice, and serving on an independent panel of experts evaluating candidates and suggesting reforms to selection procedures for the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, and as Special Advisor to the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Grossman is co-editor of Legitimacy and International Courts (Cambridge, 2018) and the Oxford Handbook of Women and International Law (2025).
