
Julia Gegenheimer
Julia Gegenheimer is a Special Litigation Counsel at the Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection (ICAP) at Georgetown Law. She joined ICAP after nearly fifteen years as a prosecutor with the United States Department of Justice, where she served as an Assistant Special Counsel in the Jack Smith Special Counsel’s Office and as a Special Litigation Counsel in the Civil Rights Division’s Criminal Section. With DOJ, Julia investigated and prosecuted complex federal civil rights violations and public corruption matters, including law-enforcement misconduct cases and hate crimes involving extremism and domestic terrorism. During her tenure, she received the Attorney General’s David Margolis Award for Exceptional Service and the Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service. Prior to DOJ, Julia clerked at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. She received her law degree from Harvard Law School and her undergraduate degree from Yale University.
