Scott Fisher
Dr. Scott Fisher is an Associate Professor in Security Studies at Kean University. Prior to academia, he worked in crisis management as a civilian assigned to the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, which included a tour in Baghdad. He also served in Afghanistan, Africa, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific as a U.S. Army information operations officer.
Along with Graig Klein, Fisher co-created the FOCUSdata Project (Bluesky), a resource of Chinese, Russian, North Korean, and Iranian state media and foreign ministry articles in use by researchers worldwide. Fisher has a PhD in Global Studies from Rutgers University, an MA in Security Studies from Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service, and an MA in Korean and International Studies from Seoul National University in South Korea. He did his undergraduate work in History at the University of Michigan.
