Sophia Cope (@scopesetic) is Director of Government Affairs and Legislative Counsel at the Newspaper Association of America, which is leading a coalition of over 70 media companies and journalism organizations in an effort to enact a federal shield law. Ms. Cope previously worked at the Center for Democracy & Technology and the First Amendment Project. She is also an adjunct professor of communication law.
