
Juste Codjo
Dr. Juste Codjo is an Associate Professor of Security Studies at Kean University, where he also directs a doctoral program in civil security leadership, management and policy. He is a practitioner-scholar with over 20 years of military service in Benin (West Africa), where he served as, among others, chief of staff to the Commanding General of the Benin Army and logistics officer in United Nations peacekeeping operations in Liberia.
Codjo’s scholarship spans peer-reviewed articles, monographs, and policy papers on issues related to African security and geopolitics, strategic studies, great power competition, U.S. national security policy in Africa, and democratic transitions in Africa.
He holds a Ph.D. in Security Studies from Kansas State University and a graduate certificate in strategic studies from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He previously taught security studies and political science at several institutions, including New Jersey City University, University of Kentucky, American University, and Kansas State University.
