Stephen Chamberlin

Stephen Chamberlin, CAPT, USCG (Ret) (LinkedIn) served as an officer in the United States Coast Guard from 1990-2015. During a career that included assignments that carried him from Guam to the Caribbean Sea, he oversaw hundreds of law enforcement and Search and Rescue cases, served as the USCG Liaison to The Bahamas, CG operations manager for Miami and as Commanding Officer of the Coast Guard’s Pacific Maritime Intelligence Fusion Center (MIFC-Pac). He retired as a Captain in 2015.

During multiple tours in Miami and The Bahamas, Chamberlin was deeply involved in Coast Guard Counter-Drug operations in the Caribbean. He routinely participated in interagency meetings to determine the disposition of suspected drug smuggling vessels, and was instrumental in negotiating the first ever U.S. and Bahamian bilateral
law enforcement agreement. As Commanding Officer of MIFC-Pac he provided the Coast Guard’s Pacific Area Commander with key intelligence on Eastern Pacific drug smuggling operations.

Chamberlin has a BA degree in history from the University of Massachusetts – Lowell, and an MA degree in International Studies from Florida International University.
