Stuart Casey-Maslen is Honorary Professor at the University of Pretoria’s Centre for Human Rights, specialising in the use of force and protection of civilians under international law. In 2019, he developed a global repository on domestic laws governing assemblies (https://rightofassembly.info). He holds a doctorate in international humanitarian law and master’s degrees in international human rights law and forensic ballistics. Recent publications include a jointly authored guide to international disarmament law (Routledge, 2019) and on the conduct of hostilities under international law (Hart, 2018).
