Amanda Strayer (@AmandaLStrayer) is the Senior Counsel for Accountability at Human Rights First, where she co-leads the targeted human rights and anti-corruption sanctions coalition, a group of more than 330 NGOs advocating for the use of Magnitsky sanctions and related legal authorities in the United States, Canada, UK, EU, and Australia to hold human rights abusers and corrupt actors accountable. Throughout her career, she has worked on various international humanitarian law and international human rights law issues impacting women and girls, LGBTQI+ persons, refugees, detained persons, and activists. She received her J.D. and a Certificate in Refugees and Humanitarian Emergencies from Georgetown University Law Center and her B.A. in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia.
