Stephen Bannon, the new chief executive of Donald Trump’s campaign, ran the online outlet Breitbart News until joining the campaign. Below is a collection of headlines and excerpts from Breitbart’s “coverage” of the Khan Gold Star Family. I provide no commentary since the text below speaks for itself.

1. Muslim Father’s Donald Trump Attack on DNC May Make Him Apostate to Islam, Aug. 1, 2016

“It would be interesting to ask Khan whether he supports the U.S. Constitution over Islam’s sharia law. If he suggests the two legal systems are at all compatible, he should be asked if he has even read the Quran. The two systems are completely at odds with each other.

Because of this incompatibility, two assumptions arise concerning an assertion made as Khan and his wife stood before the convention. He stated, ‘We are honored to stand here… as patriotic American Muslims with undivided loyalty to our country.’

With this statement, Khan either is declaring he is a non-believer—i.e., an ‘apostate’—who, by such a declaration, separates himself from Islam’s belief against serving both an Islamic and non-Islamic master (with apostasy, under Islam, a crime punishable by death) or he seeks to deceive infidels about Islam by exercising the religiously sanctioned use of ‘taqiyya.’

Only one of these assumptions can be right.

But symbolic of the hypocrisy with which Khan may well view the U.S. Constitution he held high as a prop that night was the dutiful wife standing at his side, her head covered with a hijab. Nowhere in the Quran is it mandated Muslim women wear such a garment; it is Muslim men to whom they are made subservient by Islam who demand they do so since males supposedly are incapable of controlling their sexual desires.”

“There was a certain irony in observing a party platform promoting the first female presidential nominee in U.S. history while also promoting a male Muslim speaker for whom gender equality, under Islam, simply does not exist.”

2. Clinton Cash: Khizr Khan’s Deep Legal, Financial Connections to Saudi Arabia, Hillary’s Clinton Foundation Tie Terror, Immigration, Email Scandals Together, Aug. 1, 2016

“But until now, it looked like the Khans were just Gold Star parents who the big bad Donald Trump attacked. It turns out, however, in addition to being Gold Star parents, the Khans are financially and legally tied deeply to the industry of Muslim migration–and to the government of Saudi Arabia and to the Clintons themselves.”

3. ‘I Was Just Joking’: Media Apoplectic as Khizr Khan Attack on Donald Trump Goes Down in Flames, Aug. 1, 2016

“Mainstream media figures from the New York Times to the Huffington Post to CNN are apoplectic Monday as their latest attack on Donald J. Trump, the Republican nominee for president, has crumbled yet again under the slightest bit of scrutiny.”

4. Khizr Khan Believes the Constitution ‘Must Always Be Subordinated to the Sharia,’ Aug. 2, 2016

“Notwithstanding his war-hero son’s genuinely patriotic example, Khizr M. Khan has published papers supporting the supremacy of Islamic law over ‘man-made’ Western law — including the very Constitution he championed in his Democratic National Convention speech attacking GOP presidential nod Donald Trump.

In 1983, for example, Khan wrote a glowing review of a book compiled from a seminar held in Kuwait called ‘Human Rights In Islam’ in which he singles out for praise the keynote address of fellow Pakistani Allah K. Brohi, a pro-jihad Islamic jurist who was one of the closest advisers to late Pakistani dictator Gen. Zia ul-Haq, the father of the Taliban movement.”

“Though described by the Clinton camp and media as a “Pakistani-American lawyer,” less known is Khan’s an acknowledged expert on Sharia law doctrine. His 13-page article, which was published in the Houston Journal of International Law, has been cited in dozens of Islamic law articles and has been used in college syllabi for Islamic law courses as recently as 2013.

By comparison, his expertise in American constitutional law is barely evident. In fact, there appears to be few if any legal citations in federal or state court records for Khan, who describes himself on his business website (removed Tuesday from the Internet) as ‘attorney at law.’”

“For now, the most patriotic Muslim in America, according to media myth-making, remains Khizr Muazzam Khan, the father of a fallen American soldier who claims to hold the Constitution so dear he keeps a copy in his breast pocket.

But what does he really believe? His Islamist writings offer a window into his ideological thinking — and the view is a contradictory and highly disturbing one, especially in light of the fanfare he has received.”

5. Panic Mode: Khizr Khan Deletes Law Firm Website that Specialized in Muslim Immigration,  Aug. 2, 2016

“Khizr Khan, the Muslim Gold Star father that Democrats and their allies media wide have been using to hammer GOP presidential nominee Donald J. Trump, has deleted his law firm’s website from the Internet.

This development is significant, as his website proved—as Breitbart News and others have reported—that he financially benefits from unfettered pay-to-play Muslim migration into America.”

“The EB5 program, which helps wealthy foreigners usually from the Middle East essentially buy their way into America, is fraught with corruption.”

“But as Breitbart News and other new media have exposed Khan’s various deep political and legal connections to the Clintons—and to Muslim migration—the attack line has crumbled. Now, with Khan deleting his website in an apparent effort to hide his biographical information, the attack is falling apart even more.”

6. Roger Stone: Everything You Need to Know About Donald Trump and Khizr Khan,  Aug. 2, 2016

“[W]hat is clear when you look at the facts is that Saudi Arabian connections come up everywhere in this Khan job meant to besmirch the reputation of the ONLY candidate running for President who is an ally of the U.S. Military.”

7. Daily Caller: Khizr Khan Wrote Extensively in Favor of Sharia,  Aug. 2 2016

“‘The Shari’ah-was completed during the lifetime of Prophet Muhammed, in the Quran and Sunnah. This brings up an important fact which is generally overlooked, that the invariable and basic rules of Islamic Law are only those prescribed in the Shari’ah (Quran and Sunnah), which are few and limited,’ Khan continues to write. ‘All other juridical works which have been written during more than thirteen centuries are very rich and indispensable, but they must always be subordinated to the Shari’ah and open to reconsideration by all Muslims.’”

8. Frank Gaffney: Khizr Khan ‘Lying for the Faith’ by Pretending ‘There Is No Such Thing as Sharia Law,’ Aug. 3 2016

“Center for Security Policy founder Frank Gaffney joined SiriusXM host Stephen K. Bannon on Wednesday’s Breitbart News Daily to discuss the ongoing feud between Donald Trump and the Khans, the Gold Star family that attacked him from the stage of the Democratic National Convention.

… ‘Anderson Cooper, last night, he’s on his program, and he says, quote, ‘I do not stand for any sharia law because there is no such thing,’” Gaffney said incredulously of an interview Khan gave CNN. ‘You gotta say, Steve, A, that’s taqiyya – that is, lying for the faith – and B, it is demonstrably fraudulent.’”

9. Diana West: DNC ‘Put a Sharia Supremacist on Convention Center Stage,’ Aug. 3 2016

“Author and historian Diana West challenges the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) highlight of Khizr Khan at their national convention: ‘Don’t you people vet your speakers?’

From DianaWest.net: … [H]e now wishes to exit the limelight and has even scrubbed his own website, the one listing his immigration legal services in the (strictly legit!) sale of visas to foreign millionaires.

The question I have is: Don’t you people vet your speakers? Do you even realize now that by inviting Khizr Khan to speak you that put a sharia supremacist on centerstage at the 2016 Democratic National Committee Convention to endorse a candidate for president of the United States? Hello? Is that the message you want to send America — that the Democratic Party is also the Sharia Party?

I do not exaggerate. Young Capt. Khan’s ultimate sacrifice for this country is something all Americans respect and mourn. But his father’s sharia supremacism is something all Americans who defend the Constitution that Khizr Khan was waving around like a prop must learn is the ideological foe of that Constitution, just as much as Communism ever was — I mean, is. Islam, like Communism, is a totalitarian movement targeting, not through “workers’ revolution,” but jihad and the spread of sharia, our liberties that come to us from the God of the Old and New Testament (not the God of the Koran, who behaves quite differently). These God-given liberties are enshrined in our founding documents. They are not props.”

10. Paul Sperry: Khzir Khan Is a ‘World-Renowned Expert on Sharia, Not the Constitution,’ Aug. 3 2016

“It turns out that we were conned by Khan,” Perry quipped. “His past Islamic writings reveal his support for sharia, and extreme sharia enforcers, which totally contradicts his support for the Constitution he waved in all our faces at the Democratic convention.”

“If I can just say, it was an absolute mistake, the more we learn about Khan, to assume that the father was just as patriotic as his war-hero son,” he argued.”

“Sperry agreed, and also supported Bannon’s characterization of Khizr Khan as “one of the biggest proponents in this country of sharia law.”

“[Sperry said,] ’He’s a devout Muslim, this is what he believes in. I think you’re right – you have to separate both the son and the mother from the scrutiny, but the father deserves a lot of scrutiny. He’s clearly got an agenda. He’s an angry political activist up there, in a non-stop parade on the cable networks, haranguing and wagging his finger at Trump and all of us, lecturing us.’”

“[Sperry] further questioned the veracity of some of the claims in Khzir Khan’s bio: ‘In his background, there’s some serious questions, so I’m digging into that. There’s probably going to be a lot more coming out on this guy, as he continues wagging his finger.’”

[Here’s a link to Steve Bannon’s radio interview with Sperry.]

11. Ann Coulter: The Wrath of Khan, Aug. 3 2016

“Khizr Khan, the Muslim ‘Gold Star Father’ who harangued Americans at the Democratic National Convention, with a mute, hijab-wearing wife at his side …”

“Khan’s argument, delivered angrily and in a thick Pakistani accent at the DNC, is that ‘our’ Constitution requires us to continue the nonstop importation of Muslims.

If the U.S. Constitution required us to admit more than 100,000 Muslims a year — as we do — we’d already be living in Pakistan, and Khan wouldn’t have had to move to get that nice feeling of home.”

“Apparently, sending out a victim to make their argument was the only option left for the ‘Make America Muslim!’ crowd.”

12. The Real Issue Between Khizr Khan and Donald Trump: Importing Jihad, Aug. 4 2016

“Does anyone remember what the issue Khizr Khan attacked Donald Trump about at the Democratic Convention? Amidst all the outrage and attacks the substance seems to have slipped off the radar.

It was about Trump’s plan to stop Jihadists from riding the refugee flow into this country.”

13. Sheriff David Clarke: Khizr Khan ‘Dishonored His Son’s Service’ by Politicizing His Death,  Aug. 5 2016

“[Clarke said:] ‘I believe that when you enter the political arena, like Khan did, and you bring your sorrow, and your misery, and your sacrifice – and of course, they sacrificed a lot; of course, their son died an honorable death serving his country – but you use that as a political hammer, to stand up there with Trump’s opponent, and try to swing it at him, and use it in that fashion? I think all bets are off.’

Bannon, speaking as a military veteran and father of an active service member, disagreed with the idea expressed by Governor Chris Christie that ‘everything they can say is off-limits.’

‘I would say, too, shame on Mr. Khan,’ Clarke responded. ‘He can do what he wants. I don’t care what people do. But he politicized his son’s death, and I think he dishonored his son’s service by doing that.’”

[Here’s a link to Steve Bannon’s radio interview with Clarke.]

14. Khizr Khan Claims Allah Tripping Up Donald Trump,  Aug. 5, 2016

“Khan — the father of Army Capt. Humayun Khan, killed in 2004 serving in Baqubah, Iraq — told the Pakistani news service Dunya News that Allah works to make people, such as Trump, make mistakes in public in order to publicly discredit them forever.”

15. Watch: ‘Hannity’ Segment Investigates Khizr Khan’s Past Statements,  Aug. 9 2016

“A segment on Monday’s edition of Fox News Channel’s “Hannity” investigated past statements made by Khizr Khan.

Transcript as follows:

SEBASTIAN GORKA, ‘DEFEATING JIHAD’ AUTHOR: Sean, we have to look at the facts. I have no interest in attacking a gold star father, absolutely not. But he became a political actor as soon as he went to the DNC stage and attacked a presidential candidate.

Let’s just look at his statement. There’s no such thing as Sharia law? If he said that in Saudi Arabia, he would be in big trouble. The fact is, and Professor Spencer knows this better than anybody else, there are multiple schools of Sharia law. These are the foundations of the Islamic judicial system. To say it doesn’t exist is utterly fallacious, and from a man who actually published on these issues, it is more than just disingenuous, Sean

HANNITY: OK. What is your take, Robert Spencer?

ROBERT SPENCER, AUTHOR, ‘THE COMPLETE INFIDEL’S GUIDE TO IRAN’: Well, you know, he is being flagrantly deceptive. Mohammed said “War is deceit,” and I think Khan was listening.”

16. Khizr Khan No Constitutional ‘Expert’; Passed Bar at Age 60,  Aug. 12 2016

“Khizr Khan, the Gold Star father who lectured Donald Trump about the Constitution at the Democratic National Convention last month, has been touted by the media as a constitutional expert, on par with a Supreme Court Justice. However, far from being a constitutional expert or even a seasoned attorney, the 66-year-old Pakistani immigrant only recently obtained a license to practice law.”

“While Khan did graduate from Harvard in 1986, he did not obtain a typical law degree, but instead earned an LL. M. — a one-year international program tailored to foreign students.”

“Like others applying to the program, Khan submitted a law degree from another country — Pakistan. He received his basic training at the University Law College of Punjab University in Lahore, Pakistan. The LL.B., or ‘bachelor of laws,’ which Khan earned there is a two-year program no longer offered in the United States.

Furthermore, University Law College is a small college where courses are taught by professors trained in British as well as Sharia law, the brutally oppressive Islamic legal code that Khan, a devout Muslim, has said supersedes “all other juridical works.” In fact, Khan is a world-renowned expert on Sharia, not the Constitution.”
