Admiral Sam Locklear (Ret.)

Admiral Samuel J. Locklear (USN, Retired) is a member of the Center for Climate and Security’s Advisory Board. He served for 15 years of service as a Flag Officer, including as the commander of the United States Pacific Command from 2012 to 2015. A key architect of America’s rebalance to the Asia-Pacific, Admiral Locklear constructed the strategic framework and detailed planning that began the rebalance of U.S. military influence to the Asia-Pacific. He was among the first top military leaders to identify climate change as an urgent national security threat. He is also on LinkedIn.
