Claire Simmons

Claire Simmons is a researcher at the University of Essex Human Rights Centre, currently working on a Geneva Academy/ICRC project on investigations in armed conflict. She is also a PhD candidate in the Essex Law School, focusing her research on the independence and impartiality of military justice systems under international law. Claire previously worked with the British Red Cross and local human rights organisations in Thailand, France and the UK. She holds an LLM in International Human Rights Law and Humanitarian Law from the University of Essex.
