Dr. Schwalm is Senior Scientist and Director of Woodwell’s Climate Risk program—a group of 14 scientists with partnerships ranging from local communities to leading financial service firms. His work focuses on connecting climate risk to capital markets, exploring the intersection between geopolitical tensions and climate risk, and improving the storytelling around climate warming and impacts through climate literacy and awareness. Schwalm also directs Woodwell’s outreach initiative to provide under-resourced communities globally with localized climate risk assessments. His research has been published in leading scientific journals and has been featured by the New York Times, CBS News, and the Toronto Star, as well as S&P Global and The Diplomat.
