Róisín Pillay
Róisín Pillay (@RoisinPillay) is Director of the Europe Regional Programme at the International Commission of Jurists, where she is responsible for programme’s work to advance the legal protection of human rights in Europe and Central Asia. She has worked extensively on national implementation of international human rights law, on judicial independence and the rule of law, and on issues of counter-terrorism and human rights. Róisín previously worked for the Irish Law Reform Commission, for JUSTICE, the British section of the ICJ, and as an advisor to the UK Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights, before joining the ICJ in 2006. She studied law at Trinity College Dublin and at the University of Cambridge and qualified as a barrister in Ireland.
