Ela Matthews (@elamatthews01) is a senior staff attorney at the San Francisco-based Center for Justice and Accountability (CJA). She represents survivors of atrocity crimes and severe human rights abuses in seeking justice and ending impunity in U.S. federal courts and beyond. Prior to joining CJA, Ela was a litigation associate at White & Case, LLP and an intern to the U.S. Member to the UN Committee Against Torture, where she worked on General Comment No. 3 on the implementation of Article 14: the right to redress for torture. Ela is a graduate of Kings College London and Columbia Law School.
