Iris Malone

Iris Malone (@irisemalone) is Assistant Professor of Political Science and International Affairs at the George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs where she specializes in research on combatting terrorism, insurgency, and violent extremism using machine learning methods. As part of this research, she is co-principal investigator of the Stanford University Mapping Militants Project which traces the evolution and relational behavior of militant organizations in prominent terrorist networks. She is also a research affiliate with the National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology, and Education (NCITE) Center.  Prior to joining George Washington University, she was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Center for International Security and Cooperation. Iris holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford University and a BA in Government and Chemistry from Cornell University.
