Adam Lichtenheld (@aglichtenheld) is Senior Researcher for Peace and Conflict at Mercy Corps, where he leads research related to conflict prevention, mitigation, and resolution. Dr. Lichtenheld has conducted fieldwork in Afghanistan, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Niger, Nigeria, Syria, Turkey, and Uganda, and his work has been published in International Organization, the British Journal of Political SciencePolitical Geography, and Economics & Politics, along with the Washington PostForeign Policy, and U.N. Dispatch.
Dr. Lichtenheld has served as a consultant for UNHCR, the World Bank, the Danish Refugee Council, and USAID, and he has designed and taught courses on armed conflict and forced displacement at Yale University and the University of California, Berkeley. He holds a Ph.D. in political science from University of California, Berkeley.
