Anka Lee is a Fellow at the Truman National Security Project and works at the intersection of international and domestic policy and politics, technology, and media. Most recently, he was global policy advisor to California Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon, where he established new bilateral strategic initiatives for California state leaders to engage with foreign counterparts on policy issues of global and local significance.
Prior to that, he was a Senior Director at Albright Stonebridge Group, advising Co-Chairs Madeleine Albright, Sandy Berger, and Carlos Gutierrez on developments in East Asia. He also served as a China analyst for the U.S. military, U.S. Congress, and covered democratic movements in Asia as a journalist. His writings and commentaries have appeared in The Atlantic, Bloomberg, NBC, Politico, San Francisco Chronicle, Time, and The Diplomat.
