Kate Huddleston (@k_huddleston) is an attorney at the ACLU of Texas. Kate focuses on immigrants’ rights issues, particularly related to asylum seekers at the border and to immigration detention. She is on the ACLU team litigating Las Americas v. Wolf, the challenge to PACR/HARP—DHS’s policy of holding asylum seekers in Customs and Border Protection jails without access to counsel for the initial asylum screening process. Before joining the ACLU of Texas, Kate was an immigrants’ rights fellow at the ACLU of Arizona and subsequently the ACLU of Southern California. She clerked for Judge Stephen Reinhardt of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and Justice Goodwin Liu of the Supreme Court of California.
