Jesse Bernstein (@JesseBerns) is a Truman National Security Fellow. He has worked for the United Nations, the Norwegian Refugee Council and local human rights organizations in contexts such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, South Africa, Switzerland and Uganda. He previously was a Senior Associate at Human Rights First where he developed advocacy strategies to increase protection of U.S.-affiliated Iraqi refugees. Jesse graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in 2004.  He earned a Masters of Science in Human Rights with Distinction from the London School of Economics in 2008.  He currently serves as a Trustee of the Point Foundation, which is a U.S-based national LGBT scholarship fund.
