Jeffrey Smith (@Smith_JeffreyT) is the founding director of Vanguard Africa, a nonprofit organization launched in 2016 to build and promote democratic solutions for African nations. Mr. Smith frequently provides expert briefings to government institutions, presents on public panels, and has written extensively on issues related to global democracy, human rights and US-Africa policy for a host of premier international publications. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut, where he received a masters degree in international relations with honors in 2007.
