Lt. Col. Eugene (John) Gregory

John Gregory is a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army.  He is an Academy Professor of Chinese in the Department of Foreign Languages at the United States Military Academy, West Point, N.Y.  He also serves as the Director of the Center for Languages, Cultures, and Regional Studies at the United States Military Academy.  Lieutenant Colonel Gregory earned a B.S. in Chinese and French from the United States Military Academy and a J.D. from the University of Florida College of Law.  He also holds an LL.M. in Military Law from the Judge Advocate General’s School in Charlottesville, Va. and a Ph.D. in Late Imperial Chinese History from Georgetown University.  The views expressed here are his personal views and do not necessarily reflect those of the Department of Defense, the United States Army, the United States Military Academy, or any other department or agency of the United States Government.
