Jamil Dakwar

Jamil Dakwar (@jdakwar) is the Director of the American Civil Liberties Union’s Human Rights Program. Prior to joining the ACLU in 2004, he worked at Human Rights Watch and before moving to the United States, he was a senior attorney with Adalah: The Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel. Jamil is an adjunct professor at Hunter College, Bard College and John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY). He is also a member of state of New York’s advisory committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. He is a graduate of Tel Aviv University and NYU School of Law.
