Miguel Cotes Ramírez is an environmental engineer and graduated from the University of La Guajira. He belongs to the Wayuu La Paz indigenous community in La Guajira, Colombia. He is trained and experienced in humanitarian standards, specifically in water, sanitation, and hygiene. Since 2021, he has been part of HelpAge International as project coordinator for Latin America and the Caribbean, responsible for the operation and development of humanitarian projects in the region with a focus on inclusion for older people. He has developed sustainable water solutions for Wayuu communities and sustainability methodologies through an intergenerational approach.
